Applications Engineer
The Applications Engineer will oversee the planning, design, and installation of machinery and equipment in an industrial facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides proper training to workers to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and avoid system malfunctions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops specifications and performance requirements for industrial equipment.
- Calculates cost analysis for integrating new machinery and equipment into the manufacturing process.
- Uses programming knowledge and experience to adapt equipment to specific job applications.
- Prepares operating instructions and programs for equipment.
- Oversees installation of machinery and equipment to ensure they function according to specifications.
- Evaluates machinery to ensure it has the capability to complete desired functions.
- Analyzes alternative techniques and methods and recommends changes to equipment or procedures as needed.
- Establishes schedule of procedures and maintenance routines to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Shares technical information and training with other departments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
- Proficient with computer industrial design systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient with computer design systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science required; Masters degree preferred.
- Four years of relevant experience, preferably in application engineering, highly preferred.
- Design experience and development of programmed applications highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the industrial facility.
